Short curriculum Vitae

Graduated in Geological Sciences at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1996 and received her PhD degree in 2001 from the University of Pisa. She currently holds the position of Researcher (RTDa) at the Department of Earth Sciences, Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2022 she has held the National Scientific qualification as Associate Professor (04/A1 - Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology, Volcanology, Earth resources and Applications)..

 

Training 

  • 1996 Degree in Geological Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome.
  • 2001 Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at University of Pisa.

 

Professional experience

  • 2023 - ongoing: Researcher (RTDa) - Sapienza University of Rome.
  • 2020-2023: Collaboration agreements at Sapienza University of Rome (Earth Science Department) aimed at i) supporting and tutoring activities for doctoral students in the field of microanalytical and experimental techniques of the Earth Sciences and ii) design, set-up and testing of experimental specimen holders for the piston-cylinder press in use in the Department of Earth Sciences.

Research Topics

  1. Experimental petrology: influence of volatile components (H2O, CO2) on phase relations and differentiation of basic magmas at high-pressure.
  2. Nucleation and crystallization kinetics of experimental and natural silicate systems and time scales of magmatic processes.
  3. Petrology and definition of eruptive mechanisms of subaerial and submarine volcanoes.
  4. Melting processes, melt migration and melt/peridotite interaction recorded from the upper mantle.

Northern Victoria Land (Antarctica), Vulsini volcanic district, Pontine Archipelago, Campi Flegrei; Etna, Hyblean Plateau; Stromboli; Pantelleria.
