Graduated in Geological Sciences at the University of Siena in 1992, PhD in 1998, Researcher at CNR-IGAG Roma since 2004; at CNR-IGG Pisa from 2004, and then from 2020 Associate Professor of Geochemistry (GEO/08) at  Dept of Earth Science at Sapienza University, in Rome. From 2013-2018 elected Member of Parliament, working in the Commission for Environment and Infrastrutture, and in the Commission for Education, Research and Culture. Since 2020 member of the European Plate Observing System-EPOS, Advisory Board.

  • Geochemical and isotopic characterization of mineral, gaseous, and fluid phases;
  • Isotopic investigation of W/R ratios and paleoclimatic implications from hydrothemally altered proxy records;
  • Geochemical and isotopic characterization of volcanic series to evaluate the hazard related to the carbonate-rock interaction.
  • Isotopic investigation (O, H) about the nature of fluids in hydrthermal systems;
  • Paleo-environmental study through cave carbonate concretions and fossil organic material.
