Short Curriculum Vitae
I undertook a Master’s degree in Geological Sciences (vote 110/110 cum laude) at Sapienza University of Rome in 2017. I obtained a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at Sapienza University in 2021 with a thesis in structural geology and entitled “Evolution of segments of the Central Apennine wedge through structural, geochemical, and geochronological constraints in fault zones”. During the Ph.D., I spent periods abroad as visiting Ph.D. student at the Goethe University of Frankfurt (Germany), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, Trondheim), and Geological Survey of Norway (NGU, Trondheim). Awarded in 2021 for the Best Student Paper Award from Journal of Structural Geology for the scientific paper entitled “Architecture and evolution of an extensionally-inverted thrust (Mt. Tancia Thrust, Central Apennines): Geological, structural, geochemical, and K-Ar geochronological constraints”. I obtained a postdoctoral research position in 2021 at the University of Bologna for a project entitled “Multitechnique structural characterization of complex faults in the Eastern Southern Alps (Italy)”, and a postdoctoral research position in 2022 at the same university in the context of the PRIN 2020-FAST project entitled “Fault Architecture in Space and Time – FAST”. Researcher in Structural Geology at the Earth Science Department of Sapienza University of Rome from April 2023.

Research
Research Topics
  1. Tectonic evolution of fold-and-thrust belts
  2. P-T-t-x evolution of faults and fault zones
  3. Characterization of deformation mechanisms at brittle and brittle-ductile conditions
  4. Paleofluid circulation and fluid-rock interaction processes through space (along faults and fault zones) and in time (during seismic cycles and earthquakes)
  5. Characterization of the permeability architecture of complex faults

My research activity is based on the integration of (i) multiscale structural constraints, (ii) in-situ permeametry, (iii) geochemical analyses (e.g., C and O stable isotopes and clumnped isotopes) and analyses of fluid inclusions (e.g., microthermometry) on tectonic mineralization, and (iv) U-Pb and K-Ar geochronology on tectonic carbonate and syn-kinematic clay minerals in fault gouge, respectively.
