IR Nicolet iS50 spectrometer coupled with the IR Continuum microscope

Infrared Spectroscopy Laboratory

Service Information

The Infrared Spectroscopy Laboratory at the Department of Earth Sciences of Sapienza University of Rome supports teaching and researching activities in the fields of Geological, Materials Sciences and Cultural Heritage. FTIR spectra 4000-400 cm-1 allow the identification of functional groups to define the nature of organic (oil, resin, gum, colorants, organic phases, bitumen, etc.) and inorganic (carbonates, sulphates, oxalate, pigments, etc.) compounds.
The laboratory offers services at a rate.
