In the context of environmental issues, we carry out experimental research on the processes of immobilization of toxic metals in polluted waters and soils by natural and phosphates synthesized from food industry waste. In addition, we study the processes of carbonation of carbon dioxide in aqueous solution for the development of a complementary technology for the sequestration of this greenhouse gas emitted by human activities.

Another research topic is that of archaeometric studies of stone materials, ceramics, mortars, metals and glass of archaeological interest, aimed at defining the technological development of production processes and the areas of provenance of raw materials.

On these research topics, we have a consolidated scientific production in high impact journals, internationally recognized.
