Graduated in Geological Sciences from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1987, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences since 1992, from 1991 to 2000 Researcher, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Associate Professor from November 2000 to November 2013 and then Full Professor, “Sapienza” University of Rome, Department of Earth Sciences, Engineering Geology section. Since 2003 Member of the CERI Research Centre (Prediction, Prevention and Mitigation of Geological Risks). Since 2009 Partner, NHAZCA, a spin-off company of the “Sapienza” University of Rome”. Member, Technical Secretariat, Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea Protection (Directorate-General: Quality of Life) from 2010 to 2013. Director, of the CERI Research Centre (Prediction, Prevention and Mitigation of Geological Risks) of the “Sapienza” University of Rome, since August 2014 until the end of October 2020. Member, of the Major Risk National Committee (meteo-hydrogeological, hydraulic and landslide risk sector) appointed by means of the Prime Ministerial Decree. Since December 2017 Member of the board of directors of the INGV (Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia) appointed by the Minister of the Education, University and Research. In January 2021 she has appointed Deputy Rector to “Relation with research centers and bodies, consortia and association for the third mission”.
