Short curriculum Vitae

M.Sc. in Geological Sciences in 2001 and PhD in Geodynamics in 2005 at Roma Tre University. Visiting Researcher at the U.S. Geological Service of Boulder, Colorado in 2003 and at the Natural History Museum of London in 2008. Researcher at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences of  Sapienza University of Rome during 2010-2019. Since September 2019, Associate Professor in stratigraphical and sedimentological geology  (GEO/02) at the Department of Earth Sciences of Sapienza University of Rome. Board Member for the PhD in Earth Sciences since 2017 and Advisor for the Italian Association for the Study of Clays since 2014. Organizer and convenor of workshops and scientific sessions in collaboration with universities and research institutes on topics regarding basin analysis. Author of 76 scientific papers published on national and international journals and over 130 oral and poster communications to national and international meetings.

  1. Thermal and tectonic evolution of fold-and-thrust belts
  2. Burial and exhumation history of sedimentary basins for the assessment of petroleum system
  3. Diagenesis and very low-grade metamorphism of shales
  4. Correlation of paleothermal indicators coming from clay minerals, organic matter and fluid inclusions
  5. Evaluation of coseismic activity of faults by the an integrated study of physical and mineralogical features of fault rocks and K-Ar dating of syn-kinematic illite crystals
  6. Evaluation of seal and reservoir rocks for geothermal exploration by a combined approach of stratigraphic and structural geology, fluid inclusions, clay mineralogy and vitrinite reflectance
